Welcome back!

My eyelashes are very thin and hard to see. All the curling and mascara in the world can’t seem to make them seem longer, but falsies take care of all of that. Start by trimming the false eyelashes to the size of your eye. Carefully cut them, lash by lash, until they fit the width of your eye. I like to trim the lengths of the lashes a bit, but if you trim too much the ends don’t taper naturally and they look obviously fake.

Squeeze a bit of eyelash glue onto your finger, then carefully apply the glue from your finger onto the base of the lash. Don’t apply the glue directly to the lash, as too much glue usually comes out and the false lashes get ruined.

Use tweezers to place the eyelash on top of your lashes, then squeeze the ends of the lash against your eyelid to set the glue. Hold them in place for about a minute to let the glue set up. Carefully curl your eyelashes. This helps the false lashes stick to your real lashes, which looks more natural. I also do this to prevent the fake lashes from lifting off my natural ones.

To finish, apply mascara and eyeliner. If the base of the false lashes doesn’t line up with your natural lashes, use eyeliner to mask the gap. Then, apply mascara to your lashes. Be careful while applying the mascara, since you can unseat the glue with too much pressure. It helps to hold your finger on the other side of the falsies (don’t use the one with glue on it!) to keep them in place.

With practice, nobody will be able to tell your false lashes from real ones!

When you buy eyeshadow, you generally end up with just a few colors in a case that is quite large, considering how small the eyeshadows are. Instead of filling your purse, makeup case, or desk with a million eyeshadow cases, you can easily de-pot them and put them in a nice, neat palette.

Depotting eyeshadow is quite easy. All you need to do is heat the eyeshadow to loosen the glue that attaches it to the factory pot. There are a number of different ways to do heat them, including the hairdryer, candle, and oven.

If you’re using a hairdryer, simply turn the hairdryer on (with the heat on!) and heat the eyeshadow with it. Alternatively, place the eyeshadow in the oven for a few minutes (on low heat!) to melt the glue. I don’t really like the oven method, because it makes my whole house smell funky for hours after I depot shadows.

My favorite method by far is with a candle. Hold the eyeshadow over a lit candle with your tweezers until the adhesives bonding the pot to the container melt.

Once you’ve melted the glue, you can pop the eyeshadow out with a knife or tweezers.

Repeat this for a bunch of your eyeshadows and you can put them all together on a palette. This saves a ton of space and makes it a lot easier to find the eyeshadow that you need, instead of rummaging through a million little eyeshadow containers.

I keep a palette with my most common eyeshadow colors (browns, blacks, whites, and pinks), but I usually don’t bother depotting colors that I don’t use very often (blue, green, yellow).

Amazing Tips For an Asian Smokey Eye Look

Posted by admin @ 7:46 am

If you look, you’ll see many people every day wearing this classic look. This tutorial refers to using black and brown eyeshadow, but you can use other eyeshadow colors to match your clothes.

To start, apply concealer and any other products that you normally use. My recommendation is Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind concealer. Curl eyelashes before getting started with this look.

To get started, grab a small makeup brush and some white eyeshadow. Get some eyeshadow from the inner corner of the eye to the bottom of the brow bone.

Using the same brush, apply grey eyeshadow to the middle of the eyelid, slightly overlapping the white eyeshadow from the last step. Finally, apply black eyeshadow to the outside of the lid, overlapping the gray eyeshadow. You should now have three bands of eyeshadow, lightest nearest your nose and darkest at the outside edges of your eyes.

Use a blending brush to blur the transitions between the three eyeshadows, pulling the eyeshadow into any creases in your eyelids as well. Move the brush back and forth across the eyelid to make a smooth, seamless blend.

Add a brown shadow above the eyelid crease. Apply lightly, blending as you go. The brown should extend slightly outside of the black shadow on the outside of your eyelid. Use your blending brush to smooth the brown into the black, gray, and white eyeshadows below. If you don’t blend everything smoothly, it ends up looking awkward!

Contouring makes this look stand out even more! Grab your white eyeshadow again and apply to the brow bone, smoothing as you go. This makes the smokey eye look stand out even more.

Apply black eyeliner to darken the eye, and then add mascara to complete the smokey eye look. It’s important to use the brown (or some other color) because using just black, gray, and white ends up looking too monochromatic and unnatural. The brown helps the outside of the smokey eye blend into your natural skin tone.

Subtly Sexy Contouring and Highlighting

Posted by admin @ 7:46 am

I’m surprised as to how often people forget how great an effect contouring can have on your features. Contouring allows you to add subtle shadows to your face, enhancing your natural beauty.

Remember to always highlight and contour with natural colors. Darker browns look the best for contours, and lighter browns look best for highlights.

When you’re contouring, try to visualize the light striking your face from the front, above head level. Subtly lighten or darken various features as you see fit. Remember to smoothly blend everything, so you don’t look blotchy.

Enhance your cheekbones by darkening the sides of your cheeks and highlighting the top of the cheekbones.

You can thin your chin by darkening the sides or lightening the middle of it, remembering to blend everything! The same applies to your forehead. You can narrow a broad forehead by lightening the center and darkening the outside edges.

The same concept works with your nose. Narrow the nose by darkening the sides of the nose and lightening the center. You can also add contouring to the eyes by darkening their outside corners.

Unlike other makeup techniques, this shouldn’t be overdone. Over-use of contouring can cause your face to look like an overexposed photograph. Subtlety is key here.

It helps me to look at modeling pictures online for ideas and copying their contouring.

Finally, remember to blend your darker shade below your jaw and on the neck. Smoothly blending the edges of your face makeup prevents the problem where the face makeup stands out too much and looks awkward.

With practice, contouring can enhance your appearance in ways that many other makeup techniques can’t.

Did you know that starting today you can begin a diet to lose 10 kgs in a month that involves nothing more than eating? That’s right no starving on a low calorie diet or diet pills necessary! Today I’ll give you a run down with the real truth on low calorie diets and what you are in fact doing when you go on them. I will also describe a relatively new diet which is entirely original from every other diet you can do as you’ll see. Best of all this diet can yield fast results which stick around!

Are Low Calorie Diets Worth Doing?

In short, no and here’s why. When you go on a low calorie diet you are essentially starving your body of much needed calories. You see the problem with weight loss isn’t eating too many calories but eating too many of the really bad ones. The only sustainable low calorie diet in my opinion that is OK to go on is a raw food diet or juice fast which is by far the healthiest of diets to follow, although it can be quite challenging.

With most diets that focus on less calories are simply starving your body to lose the weight, does this sound healthy to you? What you may not realize is your body has turned on a switch because of this, the same switch that would go off if you were starving for food. Of course the instant you are again able to eat your body will immediately attempt to store up as many calories as possible. This is the reason why so many people experience a rebound effect on low calorie diets.

So What’s the Best Diet Option?

It’s known as calorie shifting and although it may sound similar to low calorie dieting I assure you it’s much different. For starters calorie shifting focuses not upon starvation as a weight loss method but on boosting your metabolism naturally through eating food! You will never go hungry on the calorie shifting diet and the entire time your metabolism is becoming more and more active due to the nature of how the diet works which is by changing your calorie consumption every day. With calorie shifting you finally have the ability to eat & burn fat without any exercise or diet pills!
